Saint Clare’s operates Same-Day Surgery units at its hospitals in Denville and Dover. These award-winning facilities are staffed by specialized nursing and clinical professionals and patients receive the same levels of quality care, compassion and individualized attention that they would receive if they were admitted to the hospital. Same-day surgery offers benefits to patients over conventional inpatient surgical stays in the hospital. Patients spend less time in the hospital, usually an average of four hours, and since they don’t stay overnight, it means decreased financial burden for them and their healthcare insurers. There is indirect benefit, too. By nature, same-day surgery is less invasive and has reduced recovery time, allowing patients to return to work and full activity sooner.
Tiedemann Center for Same Day Surgery at the Denville campus
The Center was made possible by a generous contribution from longtime Saint Clare’s supporter Kate Tiedemann. It features 18 beds, two new nursing stations, a larger main waiting room and a “quiet” waiting room for visitors. The waiting room has a 50″ television and tracking board so visitors are able to track their loved one’s location in the surgical area. The Tiedemann Center for Ambulatory Surgery provides our patients with the latest in surgical care in an updated and comfortable environment.
