Our Approach
Diagnosis and Screening
Early detection often offers the best hope for successful treatment. Through diagnostic and screening technologies, our experts are able to spot cancer and monitor the effects of treatment. Some of the modalities used at Saint Clare’s include: PET/CT, traditional and breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine, colonoscopy, digital mammography, breast ultrasound and stereotactic breast biopsy, specialized blood tests, and genetic testing. Radiation Oncology
Saint Clare’s radiation therapy program uses state-of-the-art equipment and specially trained staff to deliver ionizing radiation directly to cancerous tumors. Our department uses the latest treatment techniques to deliver precise doses of radiation to targeted areas, while sparing healthy tissue. Saint Clare’s has one of the most robust radiation therapy programs in the region, offering advanced procedures and treatment technology available, including RapidArc® volumetric arc therapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT). Surgery
The expert surgical team at Saint Clare’s understands that no surgical procedure is minor. Our board-certified surgeons and dedicated operating room staff are skilled in providing the latest state-of-the-art techniques as well as the compassion and comfort that are crucial to both positive patient experiences and surgical outcomes.
We offer a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient surgical services at our acute care hospitals in Denville and Dover. Our surgeons employ both traditional and minimally-invasive, laparoscopic techniques – including robotic-assisted surgery utilizing the daVinci® Si Surgical System. Inpatient Care
Saint Clare’s provides inpatient cancer care on a dedicated 19-bed inpatient unit at Denville Hospital. In keeping with our mission of providing multidisciplinary, individualized care, the unit is staffed by a team of certified oncology nurses, oncology social workers and case managers. Our oncology nurse educator is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care by implementing the latest clinical practices on the unit. Pastoral care, nutritional counseling, and psychosocial counseling are available to all patients staying on the unit.
Health and Wellbeing
Saint Clare’s also staffs community outreach and education professionals and offers a full slate of Support Groups and Supportive Services to help cancer patients and their loved ones cope with the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges posed by gynecologic cancer.
