Substance Abuse Walk-In Program

Patients with substance abuse (alcohol or chemical) arrive at their convenience and are directed to the unit where they are welcomed and registered by the unit secretary. Patients are taken to an inviting and comfortable waiting room with a television, recovery related literature and light refreshments. All substance abuse patients are then evaluated by a registered nurse and clinician. Once a comprehensive evaluation is complete, the team will work with the patient to process their immediate admission to the Detox Unit or coordinate a referral to the appropriate level of care. For patients found to be in need of co-occurring services, the Walk-In and Central Evaluations and Referral Department staff will coordinate care and process a direct admission to the Adult Voluntary Psychiatric Inpatient Unit (ACIS) in Boonton.
