Saint Clare’s Behavioral Health’s Central Evaluation and Referral Services (CER)
has Reached a Milestone
Denville, NJ (May 9, 2019) – Central Evaluation and Referral Services (CER) at Saint Clare’s Health is proud to announce that it has reached a milestone in that the CER now serves 100 schools in three counties. The Central Evaluation and Referral Services (CER) is an access center whose services include a one-time outpatient evaluation for mental health and substance abuse treatment, as well as school clearance for children and adolescents. It is designed to be a more calming atmosphere than the emergency room for patients without a medical emergency. CER is staffed by a professional team of clinicians who respond to a broad range of services and make treatment recommendations for inpatient and outpatient programs within Saint Clare’s Behavioral Health Services as well as referrals to community providers. Patients are seen by appointment, typically the same day. CER is open Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4:30 pm. To schedule an appointment call 888-626-2111.
“Students requiring evaluations to return to school can now be treated through CER,” said Nina Cooper, MA, CSW, MAC, Manager Central Evaluation and Referral. “The school or parent will contact CER for an appointment to assess youth at risk in a timely manner, by avoiding an emergency visit,” she added.
